The making of a monotype etching
image

This technique has many creative results.

Monotypes etched with watercolours are painted on a piece of plastic.

The plastic plate is then coated with glue to hold the colours.  Then add paints!

Let to dry until bone dry, this plate is then put through an etching press unto a wet paper.

The resulting painting is then dried flat and can be altered with crayons, pen, and even pass through through the press once more.
