QUALIFICATIONS

1983 Awarded DEC in General Science and in Mining Technology specialising in Metallurgy from

CEGEP of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.

1987 Awarded a Certificate in Computer System Management from the Université du Québec en

Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQUAT).

1999 Awarded ARCT Piano Performance, First Class Honours from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

2010 Awarded a BA in Art History from Queen's University.


EXPERIENCE

1980-81 Part time work in a Senior retirement home kitchen and cafeteria.

1981-83 Student summer work as a mining surveyor, laboratory assistant, draftsperson in Geology and Metallurgical departments for Noranda Mines Ltd, Falconbridge Ltd, Les Mines Selbaies in Quebec.

1984-88 Metallurgical Technician at La Mine Doyon (Lac Minerals-Cambior) and La mine Yvan Vezina (Cambior Inc). Responsible for mill testwork, administration, reports, and start up organisation. Responsible for implementing computurisation of production and administration system. Computer specialist in charge of all computer support and programming.

1998-Present I have raise two boys and looked after the running of our larges family homes and gardens.

1995-97 Part owner of an art gallery in Torrington , Devon England, as a painter , sharing the daily run of shop, exhibitions, hanging, workshops and general administration with an artist potter and fabric artisan.

2000-2009 Organist and Choir Director of St-Paul’s Anglican Church, Roslin.

2003-2005 Long and short term contracts with the French Catholic School Board at the elementary school L’Envol and the French Public School Board at the high school Marc Garneau in Trenton. Teaching integrated arts: music, art and dance to grade one to grade 10 classes.

2000- Present Owner of Studio A&MC in Roslin, Ontario. Responsible for exhibitions of personal work and other artists and artisans’ work; hanging, opening days, advertising, art portfolios. Responsible for art and music workshops offered to schools, for adults’ and children’s groups throughout the year. Offered private art tuition to private student in preparation for OCAD. Non-remunerative work in school classes teaching art and music.

2010 Organist and Choir Director of St-John’s United Church in Tweed. Responsible for playing the piano and organ and directing a 10 member choir at all church functions. Responsible for choosing, buying, composing the musical repertoire.

1997-Present Private tuition in piano at home and schools in Oakville, Belleville, Roslin and Trenton. Responsible in preparing students for RCM music exams and providing two recitals per year for 30 pupils plus their audience (the last one saw over 85 lovers of music.

Other past work: Food catering for special functions, cooking classes.

 

VOLUNTEER WORK

Visual Art: 2000-2003 Secretary, Chair and Co-Chair of the Tweed & Area Artist Studio Tour. Responsible for designing and implementing the Tour web site, in charge of sponsorship portfolio, Newsletter, involved in all matter of advertising and administration.

1990-Present Exhibited and sold paintings in art galleries and studios in Quebec, Ontario and England. I have been involved in many group hangings and running of art shows.

Music and Theatre: I have been a member of a choir since 12 years of age in Quebec, Ontario and England. Involved for over six years with the concert choir Melos in Kingston. Sang the witch role in production of Dido and Aeneas in Kingston. I have directed many small informal choirs in churches and schools. I have sung at marriages, funerals and private functions for many years.

Poetry: I have been writing poetry since a child in French and now in English as well. Self-published two books of poetry; “One Plus One Equals One” and “A Passion for Love and Lust”. The musical premiere of composer David Cameron’s music setting of three of my poems was performed in March 7th 2003. A recording of the three songs was made.

Schools: 1990-2009 Member, Secretary, President of parents associations, school board and school councils. Experienced in the fund-raising and the running of meetings. As an artist I have given art classes, workshops in England and in Ontario; Albert College Belleville, L’Envol Trenton. I have organised student art exhibitions, and mounted an African musical performance at Marc Garneau, Trenton.

Sport Activities: 2000-2004 I have coached soccer to small children during summer and winter seasons. I have studied karate and was awarded a purple belt. I walk and swim 4 to 5 times a week and read avidly.

Mothering: I have raised two boys, and Pierre.  Matthew and Pierre have been involved in music from a very young age; they are now both studying music, and have worked in schools and churches for many years. I am proud of their skills in languages, cooking and art appreciation; both are well adjusted citizens of the world.  I have 3 beautiful grandchildren Billie, Jean Guy and Francis who plays the piano like an expert!
